Boeing Forecasts 20-year Middle East Commercial Jet and Services Market Valued at more than $1.4 Trillion

Boeing said that airlines in the Middle East will require 3,000 new airplanes valued at $700 billion and aftermarket services such as maintenance and repair worth $740 billion, with the region positioned to capitalize on the recovery of regional and international travel and cargo demand. Boeing provided the estimate in its 2021 Commercial Market Outlook (CMO), a forecast of 20-year demand for commercial airplanes and services.

IATA Launches CEIV Lithium Battery Certification Program

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has launched a new industry certification program— Center of Excellence for Independent Validators Lithium Battery – to improve the safe handling and transport of lithium batteries across the supply chain.

“Lithium batteries are critical power sources for many consumer goods on which we all rely. Ministers and industry leaders convene on air travel and trade recovery priorities

The attention of ministers of transport and health for 193 countries will be focused on air transport over the next two weeks, as discussions are underway at the ICAO High-level Conference on COVID-19 (HLCC) on how to safely accelerate the resumption of global air connections to revitalize tourism and trade.

Emirates announces A380 flypast over Dubai

The Emirates Expo 2020 Dubai special livery aircraft will be performing two low level flypasts over Sheikh Zayed Road and the Expo 2020 Dubai site tomorrow morning, Wednesday 13 October and Thursday 14 October. Opportunities for media and the public making their morning commute to spot the aircraft will approximately be between the hours of 5am to 8am (local time) across different vantage points on Sheikh Zayed Road and around Dubai Expo 2020 and its surrounding areas. The flypasts being conducted over the next two days will be for a special project to be revealed soon by the airline.
