Solid Passenger Demand, Record Load Factor in June

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced global passenger traffic results for June 2019 showing that demand (measured in revenue passenger kilometers or RPKs) rose by 5.0% compared to June 2018. This was up slightly from the 4.7% year-over-year growth recorded in May. June capacity (available seat kilometers or ASKs) increased by 3.3%, and load factor rose 1.4 percentage points to 84.4%, which was a record for the month of June.

Embry-Riddle selects the ultimate training aircraft, the Cessna Skyhawk

Textron Aviation Inc.,  announced a Memorandum of Understanding to supply Cessna Skyhawk aircraft to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Embry-Riddle has agreed to an initial purchase of at least 60 aircraft between 2019 and 2022, with options for additional units. Embry-Riddle and Textron Aviation held a signing ceremony yesterday during the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wis.

Honeywell To Acquire TruTrak Flight Systems

Enables Honeywell access to experimental, light-sport market, which has grown by double digits over the past five years

Honeywell has acquired privately held TruTrak Flight Systems, a leader in autopilots for experimental, light-sport and certified aircraft. The acquisition will become part of Honeywell’s BendixKing business, helping to deliver affordable technologies to the experimental and general aviation markets. This market has grown by double digits over the past five years.
